At least that’s what I told myself in 2009 when I was a single mom of 3 kids, finishing up my degree from home, homeschooling my oldest son, and unemployed. I will work from home became my mantra. It’s the only thing that kept me sane.
I will work from home became my mantra.
I started out blogging so long ago, I couldn’t even tell you when it was, but I can tell you that it was with LiveJournal, then I went on to BlogSpot and started doing a few reviews. In 2009 I actually started paying for WordPress and ended up paying for a great design. The thing is, I still was only making chump change with writing blog articles and reviews. Mostly I was getting free junk to review and no money. In fact, I still get some free things from a list that I was put on so many years ago, and guess what. I don’t make money on that stuff! I was doing things so wrong back then!
It’s the only thing that kept me sane.
What was I doing wrong? So much! I didn’t have a coach, I didn’t know where to find help. I had no idea how to drive traffic or how to become “popular”. What did happen was that I started feeling better about myself. It gave myself a purpose to get out of bed in the morning. I know that your kids are supposed to be the reason you breathe, but helping other people is how I thrive!
I found my tribe! I found like minded people who wanted to chant the same mantra. I teamed up with a few ladies and we plowed through learning the hard stuff together. We made it work. Some of my friends made it work so well that they have retired from their well paying jobs after years of experience in their field! I have had much better success than I could have ever dreamed of happening, and you know what, I’ve enjoyed it so much! Its brought so much joy to my life!
Today is so much different than it was in 2009. My life has changed a lot! But so has things like the impact of Social Media. I was on Twitter before I was on Facebook. Today that is nearly unheard of! Instagram wasn’t even an option. Periscope and Facebook live? HA!
Blogging has changed some, but the really big thing is that I added network marketing, social network marketing to be exact, to what I use to do way back years ago, and I do it now so that it works! I’ve learned from some of the best resources, from loving ladies who really have made it work for them, and you know what, its working for me too!
My mantra I will work from home. It’s still something that I repeat to myself on those hard days and weeks because I love staying at home and having a flexible schedule.
